高尾にある試験林は一山まるまる桜だらけ、日本国内のありとあらゆる種類の桜が咲き誇る。この地はまさに、堀万里にとり「宝の山」だった。特に愛したのが大島桜。様々なバージョンがある。The test forest in Takao is full of cherry blossoms, and all kinds of cherry blossoms in Japan are in full bloom. This place was truly "Treasure Mountain" in Mari Hori. She especially loved Oshima Zakura. There are various versions.
白山大手毬。その名のごとく「まり」のようにゴロリとした質感、それに呼応する水面の輝きもまた、丸や四角をちりばめる独特の表現で絵にしている。制作した2004年は71歳。この70歳代が、生涯を通じ最も充実し、才能が花開いていった時期であろう。何という桜だろう！Hakusan Ootemari. The texture which was made to gorori like "Mari" like the name and the shine of the surface of the water which responds to it are made a picture by a peculiar expression studded with the circle and the square, too. In 2004, she was 71 years old. This period of 70's life was the most fulfilling and talented. What a cherry tree!
